Local Area
Turgutreis is a friendly market town and it boasts the largest market on the Bodrum peninsula; which takes over the town on a Saturday.  A bargain hunters dream, but be prepared to haggle.  The shops in the town are wide ranging and the prices low – some prices can be haggled but others are fixed.
There is a large Mosque in the town centre and the calls to prayer can be heard at various times throughout he day.
Turgutreis has a large harbour/marina, which boasts several designer shops.  These are genuine designer outlets – no fakes here.
Bodrum is around 20kms from Turgutreis and can be reached very easily by car or Dolmus (small bus service that’s very reasonably priced).  It's also possible to travel by Dolmus to Gumusluk to see the stunning views and visit Rabbit Island. Whilst there you might like to sample the freshly caught fish from one of the local restaurants on the seafront, or alteratively visit the larger up market fishing village of Yalikavak, which also boasts a well kept harbour, shops and numerous restaurants.

There are some fantastic places to visit during your stay; coach tours are good value for money and visit places like: - Ephesus and Pamukkale.

Ephesus (Turkish -Efes) - is a Ancient Greek City. The Greek goddess Artemis and the great Anatolian goddess Kybele were identified together as Artemis of Ephesus. The city had one of the most advanced aqueduct systems in the ancient world, with multiple aqueducts of various sizes to supply different areas of the city, including 4 major aqueducts - these can be seen today throughout the city; including constant flushing toilets!
Pamukkale (meaning Cotton castle) is a hot water spring with a large mineral content - chalk in particular, which flows downhill. The effect of this natural phenomenon leaves thick white layers of limestone and travertine cascading down the mountain slope resembling a frozen waterfall.

Bodrum - The waters around Bodrum are ideal for diving and snorkelling. Bodrum has several water sport centres all over the peninsula that rent out equipment, arrange excursions and even provide diving lessons for the inexperienced individual, eager to try out this famous underwater sport.
There are two Aqua parks nearby. One is the Dedeman Aqua Park on the road to Ortakent and another is next to the TMT Hotel, on the waterfront.

Day trip to Kos/Greece - In 20 minutes on the hydrofoil you will arrive the Greek island of Kos that is just opposite of Bodrum.
